The Exceptional Edit/Mindset & Identity/How to Start Thinking Like the Version of You Who Already Has What You Want

Friday, April 18, 2025

Olevia Rachel

You want more.
More pay.
More peace.
More power in the room.

And deep down, you know you're capable of it.

But here’s the truth no one tells you:

You don’t get the raise, the recognition, or the next-level life—and then become your future self.
You become them first.
Then the results catch up.

Six-figure energy doesn’t start with a job title.
It starts with a mindset.

Let’s talk about how to embody the version of you who already has what you want—now.

  • Stop thinking like someone who’s trying to get picked.
When you think like a candidate, you wait to be chosen.
    You over-prepare. You over-explain. You over-apologize.

But when you think like a match, everything changes.
You’re evaluating the role as much as they’re evaluating you.
    You’re leading the conversation.
You’re showing up like someone with options—even if you’re still building them.

Six-figure energy doesn’t say “Pick me.”
It says, “I know what I bring to the table—do you?”
  • Make decisions like someone who already knows their worth.
You already know what underpay feels like.
You already know what burnout feels like.
So why keep making decisions from that space?

Start acting like someone who respects their own time.
Start asking questions your next-level self would ask:
    • “What would someone earning $120K do here?”
    • “How would the me-with-clarity handle this?”
    • “What would I walk away from if I truly believed in my potential?”

    Clarity is magnetic.
    So is conviction.
  • Embody the energy before the evidence.
The paycheck may not be here yet.
The offer letter might still be in draft mode.

But you can still walk into the office like someone who’s building something powerful.
You can still send emails like someone who knows her work has impact.
You can still set boundaries like someone whose time is valuable.

    This isn’t delusion.
    It’s identity alignment.
And it’s what pulls the future toward you—faster.
  • Stop asking permission to grow.
You don't need your manager to "approve" you next chapter.
You don't need your coworkers to validate your evolution.
You don't need to announce your glow-up in a Slack channel.

    Just start growing.
    Start learning.
    Start walking differently.

By the time they notice the shift, you'll already by gone—or glowing so brightly they can't ignore it.
  • Ask bigger questions.
    Stop asking:
"How do I make this bearable?"
"How can I survive this week?"

    Start asking:
"What would it look like to thrive here—or somewhere else?"
"What kind of role would excite me?"
"Who am I becoming, and what does she no longer tolerate?"

Your next level doesn't come from better tasks.
    It comes from better thinking.

So How Do You Build Six-Figure Energy Now?

A. Rewrite your default thoughts.
Catch the scripts that sneak in:
"I don't want to be a burden."
"They probably won't go for that."
"Who am I to ask for that much?"

The flip them:
"My needs matter here."
"I'm allowed to ask for more."
"This is what alignment looks like."

B. Watch your posture, your pacing, your pause.
You don't need to rush through your sentences.
You don't need to smile through everything.
You don't need to shrink.

Take up space.
Pause mid-sentence if you want.
Let your silence say just as much as your words.

You are not here to perform.
You are here to lead.

C. Do one thing a day like your next-level self.
Apply for that job.
Have the bold conversation.
Say no without guilt.
Or just stand taller today than you did yesterday.

Each action is a signal that your brain:
"This is who we are now."

And when your brain believes it—everything else starts catching up.

This Isn't Fake Till You Make It. This Align Until You Arrive.

You don't have to pretend to be someone you're not.
You just have to stop pretending you're not already powerful.

You are.
Now it's time to walk like it.
